Megacon 2007
Megacon 2007 was the first convention that we've been to, (and possibly the first that I know of), to have a "Fan Dub Contest". The contest was run by an anime club in Orlando named Anime Sushi (http://www.animesushi.com). We first suggested the idea of a fakedub panel run by us to the staff at Megacon. As I realized after going to Megacon, fan panels were pretty much inexistent at such a large convention. It seems that we DID have some influence on getting Anime Sushi to go through with a contest though. As for the results of the contest...There was only one other entry besides our three. We entered "Life Lessons", "Trip to the Grocery Store", and the "Moekan Trailer". They never really made a judgment on the contest, but we were awarded an anime dvd along with a certificate for participating. Hopefully this type of contest will spread to other conventions and we'll have more opportunities in the future.
